Marble it up big easy9/10/2023 ![]() I echo these thoughts, not to sandbag people involved in it's development, but more to stress that selling something before it's primed to be sold, is far more disruptive to potential buyers than just waiting till it's fully baked. Even the icon was promised to be changed, and here it still sits, as awkward as I feel, for buying this title on day one, nearly four months ago. All of these things combined, and this feels like a title that was sold very highly as a temporary console exclusive with so many promises of content to come, and now I just feel like I believed in developers where I shouldn't have. I'm still waiting for the first patch, bought it on day one, and also saw this on sale on the eshop. ![]() On top of that it took an extra month to release outside of North America. I posted prior to release so many times, and only saw post after post on here regarding patches that were soon to come for the Switch, and so far haven't in it's nearly four months post release. This sadly has gone from one of my most anticipated games for the Switch, and one I hoped to gleefully recommend to others, to my most disappointing pickup of last year, and one I'd never recommend to others. I mentioned my excitement in this thread, and multiple eshop monthly threads before release, just after announcement, and patiently after release. I've been feeling this for a solid month or more, but have held back stating it as I truly wanted to believe in this game, and the development crew behind it. Loved all of the base game and can't wait for the eventual multiplayer modes and the first level pack for that extra bit of challenge! And maybe some more marbles to unlock in the future if the devs are looking to add more cosmetics. Simplifying the power-ups was a great idea as well, I prefer Glide over Helicopter and the changing the time freeze power-up to a standard time-slowing pick-up instead makes running some levels for diamond times a tad more interest. MBU's one track looping over and over drove me stark raving bonkers so it's nice to see there's more tracks here and some good ones too, particular standouts to me are "Gliding" "Slipstream" "Riding The Edge" & "Rolling Home". And thank god there's a varied soundtrack this time around. Most of them never felt that fun to traverse for me in previous games but the level design in these kind of stages this time around is a lot tighter and feel much less convoluted compared to previous games in the series. Overall, I'm really impressed! No stranger to Marble Blast and this game remedies two of the biggest problems I had with the series. ![]() Unlocked all 61 Marbles (Proudly using my Plasma marble for diamond-medalling all stages!) I've 100%'d it! Here's the checklist: -Beat All 40 Stages : / Fortunately, I saved the piece that chipped off and my stone installer was able to fix is so that you can not even see where it happened. So, sunk about 8 hours into it today, now that it's out in Europe, and. Hitting the edge with a cast iron pan was not a great move. It can definitely scratch more easily than a harder stone, but I have also never had that issue. Sadly I have had a small chip on the edge of my counter, but in all honesty it was my fault. I have never had my marble crack in any way. I also have a ton of cutting boards, both wood and marble and use them for any type of cutting, chopping or hot pans or pots. I rarely put anything directly on my counters that might stain or etch them. What I can tell you, is after I recovered from the first few marks, it became part of the patina of the stone and for me was no longer a big deal. I have always had honed marble, so the etching is less of an issue than with polished stone, but nevertheless, I don’t think there is any way to avoid that type of marring. What I have had occur on all of my counters is etching from anything acidic, including citrus juice, tomatoes and even milk. ![]() I have had marble countertops in my kitchens for the past twenty years and I have never had an issue with staining of any kind, including from red wine. The backsplash is a Carrera marble in a herringbone pattern. ![]() It generally has more pronounced gray veins and larger white areas. The counters in our California kitchen are a less typical white marble called Statuary Classico, which is a sister stone to Carrera marble. ![]()
